Hereditary conditions covered without dollar or time limits.  Lifetime coverage is contingent on the policy being renewed each year without any break in coverage.  Subject to annual policy limits of $8,000, $12,000 or $20,000. Limits are replenished in full on renewal.

Petplan policies provide the most comprehensive reimbursement for veterinary fees relating to treatment administered by a licensed veterinarian for illness or injury (provided that it is not pre-existing or occurred during a waiting period) including cancer treatment, regardless of the type of cancer.

Petplan covers injuries and illnesses for life with no dollar limits per condition.

You will have an initial free-look period after you receive your Welcome Pack and Policy Documentation. You can cancel your policy at any time within this free-look period and provided that you have made no claims you will receive a full refund.

To assess your claim in a timely and efficient manner we require the following documentation from you:

    * A fully completed claim form signed by both you and your veterinarian
    * The original invoice<

Policy owner may cancel at any time on a pro-rata basis after initial free-look period.  Company may cancel due to non-payment of premium.

Maximum enrollment age is 8 years for standard dogs and 5 years for Select Breeds.

Petplan classifies the following breeds of dog as Select:

Aidi, Akbash Dog, Appenzeller Sennenhund , Argentine Dogo / Dogo Argentino, Beauceron, Bernese Mountain Dog, Black Russian Terrier, Bloodhound, Boerboel, Bulldog (all Bulldog breeds), Bull Terrier, Ca de Bou / Perro de Presa Mallorquin, Canary Dog /Presa Canario, Cane Corso , Cão de Fila de São Miguel, Chinese Chongqing Dog, Clumber Spaniel, Coonhound , Deerhound /Scottish Deerhound, Doberman Pinscher, Dogue de Bordeaux /French Mastiff, Dutch Sheepdog / Schapendoes, Entlebucher Sennenhund, Fila Brasileiro /Brazilian Fila , Gran Mastin de Borinquen, Great Dane, Great Pyrenees / Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Griffon Brabancon, Irish Wolfhound, Kangal Dog, Landseer, Leonberger, Maremma Sheepdog, Mastiff (all Mastiff breeds), Mioritic Sheepdog, Newfoundland, Ovtcharka, Rottweiler, Scottish Terrier (Scottie), Saint Bernard, Shar-Pei, Staghound , Tibetan KyiApso, Thai Ridgeback, Tosa Inu

These breeds display a higher degree of frequency and severity of disease and as such different terms and conditions apply including a lower age limit for new enrollments.

Petplan does not offer coverage for any wolf or wolf hybrid or for cloned pets.
